Olota of Ota-Awori land, Oba Professor Adeyemi Obalenge Lanlekun Ekun 11 has called and solicited for corporate and individual support as this year Iganmode cultural festival 2021 holds in December.
The royal father and professor of journalism made this known during the press conference held at Olota palace yesterday.
The Paramount ruler said that the intervention of government, corporate and individual bodies are needed to make the festival a very formidable one just like Ojude-Oba and Omo Olowu festivals.
Kabiyees, explained further that Iganmode cultural festival aids the entire people of Ota-Awori to remember and to imbibe their cultural value and history.
He said that Ota kingdom occupied the major place in the state and country as hub of industries.
Kabiyeesi said ' Iganmode cultural festival is to remember our forefathers and warriors. I want to also enjoin people to pay their tax for government to do more'.
However, Olota, employed all the indigenes and non-indigenes of Ota-Awori to come out enmass to celebrate the festival.
However, the chairman planning committee of the festival, Aare Ayodele Bankole, said that this year festival is a unique one because the funding, planning and execution is primarily community driven.
He said that Iganmode cultural festival is a symbol of leadership, influence, hardwork, unity and teamwork.
Bankole said further that Iganmode cultural festival is to promote the culture and tradition of Aworis.
In his words, he explained that festival is going to be a week-long event and is going to hold between December 13th and December 19th 2021.
He said that the event would be declared opened with Osugbo prayer and free medical outreach program to cater for the aged and less privileged in the community and a charity visitation to Ijamido motherless babies home.
Day two will be a youths summit with the theme ' Culture a module for sustainable leadership in Nigeria and this to educate and inform participants about the importance of culture. The second day would be wrapped up with a street carnival for the youths.
Day 3 which is 15th December is going to be cultural display and this will hold at Olota palace open ground. Day 4 is going to be a day to honour some important personalities with chieftaincy titles.
Bankole, said further that day 5 is going to be a special jumat prayer at Ota Central mosque by 1pm.
The grand finale at day 6 will take place at Saint Michael and Ansardeen Primary school, Ota from 10am. The planning committee chairman said that day 7 is going to be a Thanksgiving service at The Living Faith Tabernacle Winner chapel.
Some of the indigenes of Ota-Awori who were also at the press conference are: Mr. Clement Akinyemi, Oba Wadudu, Chief Bamigboye, High Chief Olanrewaju Abayomi, Hon. Akinpelu Aina, Hon. Wasiu Lawal, Erelu Adeola Orisile, Erelu Adenike Akindele, Femi Fadina and hunters.
