If I am dressing to go out around 6pm my father will be telling me if i did not come back by 7pm there will be problem for me, that statement will not even make me to have interest in going out again

Your journey in to music, how did you started or your father propel you to play music?

Aminat Raji Owonikoko: No, it wasn't my father's doing at all But  as i was growing i started going to Arabic school with my friends and whenever we have occasion in the Arabic school,  the cleric will always test our voice to know who is worth to be the leading singer

So from there they chose me to be their leader then after which i started go out with my dad, and my  dad will always give me five minutes chance to perform on stage from there, i started knowing his style of singing apala.

And now by the special grace of almighty Allah have been singing this apala and Islamic song for 20years now

Are you saying his position as a musician does not influence your career?

Yes, his influence helps me a lot, his doors name opens doors for me, and many of his lovers love my music.

You said you have been singing for the past twenty years, how was the experience as a female singer

Raji Owonikoko: It has not been easy, neither too difficult, because my father and my cleric always with me, so am not always alone

 Any album to your credit?

Like other female singers like you whom their fathers also musicians, do you compose your own song or you play your father's songs

Aminat Raji Owonikoko: Iam very good in composing song, God really blessed me on that

Am always singing my father's songs for all his fans to know that am his biological daughter.

Means that you also benefited from your dad's fans

How is your relationship with the likes Halimat Ayinla Omowura and Modinat Barrytide?

Aminat Raji Owonikoko: Although i have never come across Halimat Ayinla Omowura, but Modinat Barrytide, is a very funny human being. We met at Alhaji Mumeen Damilola  wife's launching, Damilola introduced me to some of  his fans that  I’m Alhaji Raji Owonikoko's daughter. I saw Modinat Barrytide and i decided to greet her when i got to where she was seating and I greeted her with honour. I told her that I want to come closer to her, but to my highest surprise,  she  called one of her girls and  she told her that i wanted to join her  band. And the lady came and said, welcome ma, our form is #1000 and our rehearsal day is every  Wednesday

I did not know what to say,  left reluctantly looking forward to the day dat we will meet again

When i got home i explained to my dad and my was he was very  disappointed in her too
