Hundreds of inhabitants of Igbogbo, Oreta, Offin, Bayeku, Lajo, Agunfoye and Awesu communities in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA of Lagos State have been rendered homeless by a flood that followed hours of heavy rains in the area on Sunday and Monday. The flood sacked hundreds residents and destroyed properties worth millions of naira.

“These areas are flood prone but this is the biggest flooding we have experienced in recent times. The flood has sacked us from neither going out nor stay at home", Oduala said.
One of the victims from Lajo Community, Igbogbo, Mr Adekambi Muftau, said to MegaXpression Community News that over 500 houses were submerged. People are making frantic effort to save some of their properties. "We are urging the state and local governments to find a lasting solution to the problem," he added.
The residence of Igbogbo Monarch, HRM Oba AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, was said to be equally affected by flood, which led to damages of lots of things.
Meanwhile, MegaXpression learnt that the House of Assembly member, representing Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Nurudeen Sholaja-Saka and Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Bldr. Olusesan Mayokun Daini, have visited some of the affected areas in the LCDA for on the spot assessment of the damage and promised appropriate measures to be taking by government.
