Why we honoured KSA —Lagos PMAN governor

“He is one Nigerian musician that has striven to establish and achieve an enviable height in music at both the local and international arenas.”
That was the view of the Governor of Performing Musician Association of Nigeria (PMAN) Lagos State chapter, during award ceremony organized for the King of World beats, King Sunny AdeThe event which was part of the 70 artistes’ celebration of KSA in Lagos climax the 70th birthday of King Sunny Ade. According to Kabiesi Olomide Osoba, the Governor of PMAN in Lagos, he said, “KSA deserve more than the honour given him because he has successfully put the country music in the world map and we shall continue to celebrate him throughout his life time”responding, King Sunny Ade thanked PMAN for the honour, he prayed that God will continue to uphold the association and the executives. “You will take this association to a greater height and God will continue to guide you in all your endeavour. I sincerely appreciate this gesture though a surprise to me” It would be recalled that the climax of the 70th birthday of King Sunny Ade was the presentation of a joint album by 70 notable artistes in the country at an event packaged by Tope Olukole and others for him in Lagos, the occasion was used by PMAN Lagos to officially present an award of excellence to him, so also the Gospel Musicians association of Nigeria headed by Lady Evangelist Funmi Aragbaye also presented an award for him at the occasion.
