Bidemi Bright sets to dazzle fans with twosome, to celebrate birthday with an album launch

BY ADEROUNMU KAZEEM

Amongst her peers, she is well known with her distinct stands on women’s right, and this has contributed greatly to her rise to stardom. Abidemi Abidoye a.k.a Bidemi Bright is a great musical act to be reckoned with in gospel and contemporary music. She did bear it all in this interview. Excerpts:
My name is Abidemi Abidoye popularly known as Bidemi Bright, my journey into music started over ten years ago. To my name are two albums, titled Women’s right and O fe mi.
O fe mi was my first album packaged by a great music producer Julie King followed by Women’s right.
Why did you produce music on women’s right?
There are high rate of domestic violence in our society, this has been on for a very long time. In a bid to educate men especially; and the general public, my musical band, Bidemi Bright Entertainment thought it wise to come up with something great that will curb such menace in our society.
Besides domestic violence, women’s place in Africa and Nigeria as a whole needs serious evaluation, there’s need for orientation on how best we should treat our women; this comprises girl child, sisters, ladies, wives and mothers both old and young.
Their rights are well enunciated in my album. I have just released another version of it titled volume 2, this is to press home the need for a better life and treatment for women.
What is new thing from your stable?
I have just concluded work on my new album Abimi-mogo (Born with Glory) and the volume 2 of Women’s right. Also, come next Sunday the 31st of this month I shall celebrate my birthday and the launching of Abimi-mogo my new Audio album.
The event will take place at Celestial church of Christ, Afola-Oluwabi parish Iju-Ishaga area. The event shall be star studded, the likes of Segun Nabi, Mega 99, Seyi Michael and a host of others.
What makes your new song different?
With the current situation in the country, our nation needs prayer. Abimi-mogo is a prayer song. It is filled with prayers.
What do you consider as challenges in your career as a musician?
As a woman there are lots one is saddled with as an upcoming artiste. Despite the longer years on the profession, attaining stardom isn’t a joke for women in entertainment industry, but by and large we give glory to God that has taken us this far.
Meanwhile, there are joyous moments in music for me than those periods when I felt like chicken out. With God, I have been able to move gracefully amongst my peers.
