ACTING IS A BUSINESS-FUNMI LAWAL

 Beautiful actress, Funmi Lawal, in this exclusive interview with thegazellenews.com‘s ADEYEMI ADENEKAN speaks on the day a younger colleague in the industry made her sad.

 TGN Media: Who is Funmi Lawal?

Funmi Lawal: I’m me, no fake and don’t get angry over a drum of oil poured away but might be angry over a cup of water being wasted.

TGN Media: What prompted you into acting?

Funmi Lawal: Everything to me is business so I came in as a business person.

TGN Media: Were there any form(s) of objection from your parents or they just let you have your way?

Funmi Lawal: My parents know it’s not something I’m doing for the ‘see me’ purpose so they gave all their support.

TGN Media: How many movies have you featured in till date?

Funmi Lawal: I hardly appear in other people’s movies so just my own and till date I have produced 11 films.

TGN Media: Which movie was the first one you featured in?

Funmi Lawal: My first movie was my job and it’s titled ‘OMODARA’.

TGN Media: What should your fans be expecting from you?

Funmi Lawal: I have two interesting and entertaining films coming soon from Okiki Fims.

TGN Media: Tell us about your happiest day in the industry.

Funmi Lawal: Happiest day? Do I have one? Every day is a happy day for me as far I sleep and wake up healthy.

 

TGN Media: If any, tell us your saddest day in the industry.

Funmi Lawal: Sad day? I think a lot of that but one that I remember recently was all my contacts wiping off and asking a colleague to give me our people’s pin, I remember adding people and the good and humble ones say “hey, good to have you, and a younger colleague sends me a message saying’ won’t you introduce yourself and tell me why you added me? I know some of my mates in the industry would have bluffed her but I didn’t do that, I did what she wants, I did it even more than she ask, it’s like saying ‘hey I’m here to someone in case you are blind’ and that’s me for you.

TGN Media: What’s your advice to the parents who don’t send their kids to school but send them to sell on the street?

Funmi Lawal: I don’t think any good parents want their wards on the street except situations warrant it. I know so many known people today who were once hawkers. So I wouldn’t want to believe it’s something they did willingly but my candid advice is “do all you can to get your children to school they are your tomorrow.”
